The King has graciously please to approve the award of the British Empire Medal Military Division in recognition of gallant and Distinguished services in Palestine during the period 27th September, 1947 to 26th March 1948

Lanner Soldier's Bravery
For Conspicious bravery while serving recently with the Royal Artillery in Palestine. the B.E.M. has been awarded to Gnr Lawrence Brian Lampshire who since has been promoted to Sergeant and is now serving with an airborne division in Benghazi.
Sgt Lampshire who last week received his medal with an accompanying letter of congratulations from the King. Is the elder son of Mr and Mrs C.G.Lampshire of Church Row Lanner.
