Keely, Thomas Calder Southwell, son of Thomas Alexander Southwell Keely, of St. Mar­garet's, Twickenham, barrister-at-law, by Mary Elizabeth Sophia, daughter of Col. William Calder, of the King's Regt.; b. Aug. 3, 1883; adm. as Q.S. Jan. 21, 1897; left (with Triplett) July 1902; Pembroke Coll. Oxon., scholar 1902, matric. Michaelmas 1902; a 2nd class clerk in the office of the Masters of Lunacy Aug. 1, 1904, 1st class since April 1, 1924; chief clerk, Management and Administrative Dept., April 1, 1935; asst. master Oct. 16, 1937; O.B.E. Jan. 1, 1947; joined the Inns of Court O. T. C. in June 1915, and obtained a commission in the 16th Batt. the King's Liverpool Regt. Oct. 7, 1915; Lieut. July 1, 1917; served in France 1916, Mesopotamia 1917, Egypt, Palestine, and Syria 1918-9; wounded at Arsuf May 30, 1918; demob. July 6, 1919; served in Great War II with 5th Batt. Cambs.
